I just watched a TED video by Gever Tulley on “5 dangerous things you should let your kids do”. It is great. He talks about giving kids the freedom to explore in order to make them stronger, smarter and actually safer. Watch the video after the break and more comments from me…
Some things I thought about:
1 - I have taken away a pocket knife from my son.
2 - I have denied request for my son to drive my car.
3 - I have thrown out old technology / appliances without taking them apart.
I think I will re-think some of these things. He does make a lot of sense.
